REGISTRATION - EMILY FALVEY 2019 SONGWRITING WORKSHOP

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, COMPLETE ALL FIELDS AND BE SURE TO HIT ‘SUBMIT.’

Our final summer event of 2019 will take place beginning Friday, July 12. This will be a multiple-day event over 2 weeks, with 2 required sessions and 1 optional session.

PART 1, REQUIRED. Friday July 12 at 10:00am, we’ll host a songwriting workshop featuring Ms. Emily Falvey, in partnership with SMACKSongs (bio below). The session will last 3-4 hours. No instruments are necessary. Lunch will be served.

At the conclusion, students will be given an assignment to write at least one composition, music and lyrics, that they will perform for their camp-mates on Thursday evening July 25. Students may work solo or as a duet.

PART 2, OPTIONAL. Thursday evening July 18 at 6:00pm, we’ll conduct a 1-2 hour ‘check-in.’ Students will get together to share progress, ideas, encouragement and help one another with any challenges.

PART 3, REQUIRED. Thursday evening July 25 at 6:00pm, students will participate in a Songwriter Round at the Quest Center, performing their songs for camp-mates.

This camp is most appropriate for students grades 6-12 who would like to explore songwriting and performance skills in a safe, supportive environment. Each student is expected to actively participate regardless of their skill level and must be willing to contribute outside of their comfort zone. Students must be prepared to perform their composition on July 25, either as a solo artist or duet.

The cost is $30 per student (assistance available for qualified families. Call us at 615 326 5090 or email jim@qcdickson.org).

To ensure a hands-on experience & personal attention, space is extremely limited and we expect to reach capacity.

PLEASE REGISTER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. IN FAIRNESS TO EVERYONE, STUDENTS MUST COMMIT TO ALL REQUIRED SESSIONS. NO REFUNDS.

By submitting this application, you agree:

1) Unless other arrangements have been agreed, payment is expected in full prior to the start of camp.

2) In fairness to all campers, students must attend all required sessions. There are no refunds for partial attendance.

3) The QUEST CENTER is a 501(C)(3) non-profit community organization that relies heavily on pictures and videos of our classes/events to build awareness and funding for our programs. I agree that images/videos of my child may be used for Quest Center promotional purposes. Final performances may be posted on social media and the Quest Center YouTube channel.
